March: This month your fuchsias are probably ready to be pinched, perhaps for a second or third time. As a reminder, pinching is removing the growth tip. On any branch that has 2-3 nodes of new growth, pinch (cut) out the growth tip to get a fuller plant. (If you have more nodes on a branch, you can cut back to 2-3 nodes and try to root the part you cut out.) Fertilize all your fuchsias this month with a balanced fertilizer. Because of the variable weather we have been having, monitor your plants carefully to make sure that they are not sitting in water or getting dried out.
